Configuration notes from MOXA UC7420-LX

<P>Notes on configation of my first Moxa UC7420-L Universal Communicator

Hardware

The device under discussion is a UC7420-LX Universal Communicator. It's got two 10/100BT NICs, one CF, on PCMCIA, USB, 8 serial ports, five pushbottons and a small LCD display.



Steps

  • This thing is running Monta Vista Linux on an Xscale processor
  • Configure LAN1 which maps to ixp0 to a fixed lamont address ....35
  • Add ray to /etc/hosts
  • Verify that perl (5.6.1) is installed
  • Install Moxa's gnu tool chain: mxscaleb-3.3.2-1.i386.rpm
