Phones, PDAs & Calculators
I started with a Palm Pilot Pro -> Treo650 -> Nokia E90. I tried an iPhone but was appalled to find it had a 5 function calculator and was a closed platform. One of my friends pointed out that most folks who own iPhones wouldn't know what to do with the square root so why did they waste the ROM? One of these days RSN, there will be an SDK, but I remain a skeptic. In the mean time, I'm quite happy with my E90 (2008-02-26). Updated (2008-06-20) Apple has had betas of the iPhone SDK for some time now and finally promises that it will be out with the next-gen phone or or about July 11, 2008. And, finally, the next iPhone update will support a scientific calculator, no clue yet if it will support RPN. In the mean time, E90 and cCalc work for me.
- cCalc programmable calculator for Symbian 60 3rd.
- HP Calculators for iPhone. Claims they will be ported to the SDK when it comes to pass.
